A blend of top vineyards (62% KBS, 13% Thompson, 25% Jimjoca from Balnarring), each component fermented separately in puncheons - an average of 25% new, with the balance in one- and three-year-old barrels. It's a very complete wine, with fleshy apple, juicy melon and steelier grapefruit tones, well-integrated oak spice and unwavering acidity. Complexing notes of sourdough from the gently mouthcoating lees are followed by flint and fennel which chime in on the long finish, with lovely back-palate resonance.
