Notes of nougat and canned stone fruits. There is ample concentration to this mid-weighted expression, yet it lacks the requsite detail, finesse and poise of top drawer wines in the tasting. Feels blowsy, a bit cloying, conventional and prosaic in the context of a tasting with so many stars. The alcohol feels hot across the finish, suggesting that the fruit was left to hang perhaps a little long, wringing the most from a cool year.
