Larry Cherubino’s family roots are in Calabria, southern Italy, and he believes that if Australia had its time again, it would plant more in the way of Mediterranean varieties – including southern Italian whites like this Fiano. This one’s no wallflower: it serves up elegant herbal and dried peach aromas, with flavours of blanched nut, fresh acidity and warming spice. A touch of oak adds to the complexity – this is a serious wine with lots to say for itself.
