Nervy energy drives this wine, which shouts of its terroir. There's lots of tangy iodine-like minerality, a saline hint of oyster leaf and warm earth tones that form an undercurrent to the rich but fresh purple mulberry and red raspberry fruit. Rose and violet scents carry through the expressive, open palate, whose tannins are sinewy yet supple, with a strength to support further ageing. Fermented then aged 19 months in French oak barrels, 50% new.
