Winemaker Andrew Hoadley is somewhat of a maverick, as demonstrated in this striking wine. Made from German-cloned vines brought to Western Australia from the Mosel Valley, the wine is ‘wild’ fermented in barrel which is - of course - ‘sacrilege’ for this noble German grape, hence the name. He may have ruffled a few feathers but the result is a stunning big-boned wine that's juicy and shot through with a tongue-curling Rose’s lime cordial acidity. Textured and long. Just 4,000 bottles made, so snap it up.
