Gentle fruit unfurls on the carefully layered, spice-laden nose, complemented by a toasty lick of vanilla oak. Dusky florals intermingle with musk stick, fresh hibiscus, rose hip, black fruits, mulberry, white pepper, cinnamon and a hint of barberry lift. Tannins are fine and lengthy. Fruit is inky and mid-weight, providing depth without excessive heaviness, and notes of clove, aniseed, black plum, salt flakes and a touch of nori, plus a ferrous and graphite jaggedness. Firmly structured and vibrant, the acid maintains focus and tension, culminating in an exciting wine built to endure. Enjoyable and lively in youth, it promises to age well.
