CBDB, aka Chenin Blanc Dynamic Blend. Hand-picked from Demeter-certified vineyards, the whole bunches were cold pressed, seeing no malolactic fermentation but fortnightly lees stirring, then lightly filtered before bottling. A humdinger of wine; it welcomes you with open arms and you just want to fall into its embrace. Oak is present on the nose, complimenting the fruit rather than upstaging it, even in its youth. Aromas of fried green banana with cinnamon, genteel struck-match flintiness, preserved lemon, sea spray and a dried seaweed tone. The soft-textured palate is polished and pillowy, flowing through the mouth effortlessly, revealing a treasure-trove of fruit purity and spice and all things nice: fresh apricots, green peach and lemon pith. This keeps singing long after its tune has finished. A leader in the more generous yet still elegant style of Australian Chenin.
