For Wilyabrup’s Moss Wood 2024 was the warmest and driest vintage since 2007. These dry-grown vines showed drought tolerance and whole-bunch fruit intensity shines without fleshiness. A quiet nose opens to toasted ginger, roast lemon and white florals. An inviting palate follows, offering complete phenolics and notes of candied lime, lime pip and white blossom. Cardamom pod spice studs subtle pear skin, chamomile, beeswax and lime pith. Acidity flows neatly through a long line of fruit, clarity intact. While this might initially seem subdued, it opens to elegance and expresses the place it comes from without flounce.
