Red fruited, lots of Christmas spice and plump berries with a homemade ketchup edge. Yes, it’s fruit-forward and whole bunch but there’s so much more going on here and not an inch of greenness or stem. Dusty tannins, just enough umami reduction, a ferrous note, flint and bresaola. It’s firm on both nose and palate. Totally speaks of the people that made it and the place it is from. Great length and balance. It’s not sophisticated, it’s damn delicious. A rockstar wine that you can’t be precious about.
