Fresh fruit aromas mingle with robust spice box, brambles and toasty oak. Further intense spice accompanies concentrated fruit-forward flavours, and a subtle hint of salinity adds complexity. Balanced vanillin oak is approachable and aligned with juicy fruit. Chalky tannins provide structure, while refreshing and vibrant acidity akin to a sea breeze keeps this elevated. Notes of salami, fresh meat and remnants of wood smoke drive towards a lingering finish laced with dried raspberries, salted plum and dark chocolate. Exceptional length and clarity of fruit. A complete wine with persistent primary fruit characters in its youth and a solid sense of place. Part of a relatively new range of wines from the Plan B! team. Whole berries from Wilkes Vineyard. 10 days on skins, 14 months in French oak, 60% new.
