I’ve tasted this three times in recent months, and each time it caught me in its grasp. Slight flint, preserved lemon, baked salt and warm summer air on hot, red earth. Crushed sunflower seeds, camomile, cut green hay and spice. Toasty and some florals nestled in the mix too. The palate is generous, rounded and full but has ample drive from the tidal acid. Phenolics are finely pithy and provide excellent grippy texture. This is a mouthwatering, pulse-racing Chenin with lots of warmth and spice. It’s here to make friends.
