Hold the disco ball; there’s ample funk here! A little reserved at first on the nose, but not because it lacks things to say. This wine eases in gently, building with warm, salty lemon, lanolin, dried apple, oatmeal, spice and a slick of wet limestone. The palate is long and limber; stretching out like a cat in the sunshine. Ripples of texture and tension, with outstretched fingers aching you to come closer. There’s no question of coming back for more. Length, shape and stylish, contemporary punctuation, from fruit whole-bunch pressed to old oak with monthly lees stirring.
