As one of the Erste Lage sites in Austria, Ried Loiserberg is situated at 380m above sea level, with loess layers, marbles and silicate crystalline rocks in places. Partially fermented and aged in large barrels and left on lees for 8 months in total, the warm 2019 vintage Gruner gives a perfumed nose of freshly picked citrus, ginger, fragrant herbs and yellow apple peel. Ripe and juicy, with pineapple, dried apricot and tangerine peel on the palate. Solid acidity (5.7 g/l) provides a backbone to the concentrated core of exotic yellow fruits, followed by a long, peppery finish.
