Hot weather in the early summer gave way to a cooler August, so the wines had a welcome balance of fruit and acidity. This shows a piquant and aromatic wet-stone nose. Very ripe and concentrated, the attack is vigorous and fine acidity gives a tangy finish. Spicy, persistent, and mineral, but balanced.
