Renner occupies 35 hectares on a fairly low site below Gaisberg, with sandy silt and loess soils. Gobelsburg has often made a hefty wine from here. In 2018 it displays a generous stone-fruits nose that's opulent but not overblown. Suave and juicy, it has admirable weight of fruit without heaviness, thanks to its concentration and acidity. It's also assertive and pungent, with a long spicy finish.
