The great monastery of Stift Göttweig lies on the south side of the Danube, and its wines are produced by the same team responsible for Stadt Krems. This has a subdued apple-compote nose, while the palate is creamy and broad, with moderate acidity that makes it drinkable young. It displays ample, ripe appley fruit, but lacks some energy and has a soft finish. Quite long.
