The presence of loess here makes this a good spot for Grüner Veltliner, but there's gneiss in the soil too so Riesling flourishes. The nose is reticent and delicate and not very expressive now, although there is appley fruit in the background. The attack is fresh, nimble and taut, displaying quite high acidity and ripe citrus flavours. The finish is mineral and long.
