Sainsbury's, Taste the Difference Discovery No54, Gemischter

Another new addition to the Discovery range: Gemischter Satz (one of my favourite wine words to say, pronounced 'Geh-mish-ter Sah-ts') is a unique Austrian style, made up of various grape varieties. In this case Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc are planted, harvested and fermented together. The name translates literally as 'mixed bag' and there's certainly a lot of interest here. Aromas of fresh apple and citrus with a touch of chamomile, followed by a wonderfully fresh palate, bone dry with notes of pea shoot and a touch of salinity. Great value for money.
