30% of this wine has been aged in American oak, which adds a soft butter-cream texture to the summer fruit palate profile. Madrasa, in this manifestation at least, has approachable cherry softness, ripe and fully resolved tannins, a hedonistic mid-palate capacity to please and yet a certain beguiling peppery grip and acidic substratum which has an Italian feel to it.
