Dedicated bubble house Bella boasts a tasty range of traditional and ancestral method sparklers. From the homestead property on Naramata Bench, this spends six months on the lees and sees no dosage. Citrusy aromas of lemon curd meet a touch of bread crust. Small, delicate bubbles are integrated and satiny in feel. Light, savoury and bone dry, this exhibits a lovely flavour concentration of fresh-cut apple and doughy lees, all at a modest 10.6% alcohol. Founders Jay Drysdale and Wendy Rose recently sold controlling shares to up-and-coming winemakers Bree McKeage and Rajen Singh of Ursa Major.
