Fermented and aged in concrete, Lost Art highlights Semillon’s textural assets. It is rather shy in aromas, though lees and grapefruit eventually emerge. The palate brings these together with a waxy, mouthcoating concentration. Intense lime leaf persists on the finish. I am tempted to tuck a bottle away for a few years just to see what happens.  A new brand for the Mission Hill family, Red Barn takes its name from the longstanding structure that has been converted into a winery on the Jagged Rock vineyard. Besides this Semillon, winemaker Kaylee Barss is experimenting with Italian grapes like Nebbiolo and Barbera.
