Tawse offers two Gamay, one from its Cherry Avenue vineyard and this one crafted from purchased fruit off a single vineyard in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Just a brief passage in wood allows the fruit to remain at the fore. It is light-bodied, bright and buoyant. Earthy cranberry and redcurrant are nuanced by a hint of strawberry blossom and gently cradled by barely-there tannins. Snappy acidity brings this to a clean, brisk conclusion.
