Limestone Ridge is a 21.5ha plot planted almost entirely to Riesling. As the name suggests, it is the richest in limestone of Tawse’s vineyards and the most mineral-driven of the estate’s three single-vineyard bottlings. Scents of heather and green apple open on the nose, while grapefruit, lime and chalk embellish the palate. Light bodied but emphatic and intense, it has an explosive, lingering finish. Palpable sweetness is a welcome offset to the racy, spine-tingling acidity which should integrate further with more time in bottle.
