Daniel Lalande owns two properties in Quebec’s lower Laurentians, just west of Montréal. Almost 20 years after establishing Vignoble Rivière du Chêne, he launched his La Cantina label. The 20ha vineyard is planted to Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a variety of hybrids. In this wine, orange and rosewater sing on the slender, sprightly palate with white peach joining in the chorus. Clean and direct in its delivery, this finishes with a saline tang.
