Remarkably elegant field blend of Malbec (75%) and Carménère, from a 2.8 hectare dry-farmed plot planted in 1957. The varieties are co-fermented and aged in 5,000-litre foudres for 24 months. Expressive, nuanced nose of Parma violets, rockrose, oregano and thyme, with a refreshing hint of petrichor in the background. So rounded and complete on the palate, the silky, savoury tannins holding the core of blackberries, sloe and cherry fruit. Fine toasty rim of dark chocolate and coffee.
