Great spicy edge and flavour definition shape the structure of this dry and cool vintage (the coolest in 10 years), that resulted in assertive flavours and beautiful acid tension. There's muscle but it's lean and poised, with prune, cranberry, black cherry, fig and candied orange, outlined by black and white pepper and nutmeg. Less time in oak (10 months, previously 15) has allowed the fruit to show itself and persist with greater liveliness. Still some decent ageing potential here.
