VIK was founded in 2004 by Norwegian billionaire Alexander Vik, located 150km south of Santiago in the Cachapoal Valley. The winery focusses on red blends using Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. 

La Piu Belle is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Carménère, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot and 1% Syrah, and has been aged in oak barrels for 21 months.

Paz Levinson: A very elegant Bordeaux style wine showing, smoky, leathery characteristics, topped with dark dried fruit. The palate is balanced, dry, medium acidity and body, very well balanced and long. It is a complex wine that can rival with many top Bordeaux.

Peter Richards MW: Smoky dark fruit aromas, making this expressive and engaging. It has savoury elements too and the age renders it complex and rounded. There’s tobacco, cigar box notes complemented with a firm structure and fine drying tannins. Very accomplished and serious. Touch of alcohol spice on the finish. Big boned, but very impressive.

Dirceu Vianna Junior MW: Aromas are mature, developed and still very classy including notes of cedar, earth, tar and dark chocolate as well as some balsamic notes. It’s fully mature, complex with attractive complexity and freshness on the finish.
