The low-intervention L'Entremetteuse range comes from French expat Laurence Réal, who settled in Chile's Colchagua Valley three decades ago. This Carmenere is sourced from 100-year-old, dry-farmed vines, and is aged in amphorae for 12 months. It's sulphite-free, so best to decant. With time, dense, meaty cassis aromas open up, layered with dark chocolate and mint. The powerful, structured palate is bursting with spicy black fruits, plus hints of charcuterie, with notes of green bell pepper and dark chocolate on the long finish. Long, with defined tannins, it's a great food wine for meaty dishes.
