This cracking old vine Cinsault comes from the Bularco sector of the southerly and increasingly fashionable Itata Valley. Aged in three year old barriques before a light filtration and bottling, this is a contemporary and very attractive vin de soif. It's a youthful ruby red colour with brisk rhubarb aromas, and the palate packs a punch of sweet strawberry and redcurrant fruit with a twist of pepper. This is eminently quaffable rather than super complex, but it is a joyfully good, characterful and well made wine which slips down a treat.
