At the western end of the Limarí Valley, the plots of Chardonnay clone 548 used for this wine are grown on gravel- calcareous soils and are significantly influenced by the Pacific ocean, getting a mixture of misty mornings, windy afternoons and cool nights. The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed before the must undergoes a short and controlled pre fermentation oxidation. Native yeasts are used during the fermentation, 70% in concrete eggs and the remaining in 500L Burgundian barrels, after which the wine is aged for 10 months on its fine lees. Amanda Barnes: A classy expression of Limarí, mouthwatering acidity with a rounded finish. Elegance with texture and tang: stylish. Ben Gubbins MW: Very well balanced and appealing, riper fruit, some stone fruit and melon along with grapefruit. Rounded, fresh. Dirceu Vianna Junior MW: Flinty and restrained, shows notes of citrus fruits, star fruit and fresh dough. Lovely concentration, well-judged oak, excellent texture, persistent.
