Chile

Chenin Blanc was grafted onto centennial País vines on granite soils to produce this complex, characterful wine. A year on fine lees in old French oak adds texture to the deep palate, with oily richness that's countered by vibrant acidity. Layered herbal and citrus notes, plus hints of spice and terrific persistence on the long, satisfying savoury finish. Longavi is a joint venture between Chile's Julio Bouchon and South African David Nieuwoudt, working with old dry-farmed vineyards in Maule.
