Alsace is thick in biodynamic estates, but Marc Kreydenweiss was one of the pioneers back in 1989, and he has always favoured a tightly-wound style of Riesling that ages well. The 12ha Wiebelsberg is composed of well-drained weathered sandstone. The nose is citric and taut and the palate is sleek and intense. It has a mineral character, but is also a touch hard-edged. Good acidity keeps it fresh, and there is admirable length, with a chewy finish.
