A superb example of this appellation, which lies on an escarpment above the village of Kientzheim. The south- to southwest exposure along a steep slope optimises the sun and hence can lead to wines with notes of pineapples and mangos. But here we get a dry, elegant wine with citrus, white stone and wet slate. The terrific balance between acidity and residual sugar is marked by excellent concentration, structure and a juicy mid-palate. Try with lobster in butter and lemon.
