Like some other major producers, Trimbach opted to ignore the grand cru system. But once it leased a 2.6h parcel in Eichberg in 2009, it released its first wine with Grand Cru on the label. Lightly smoky lime and apricot on a reserved nose. Rich and suave, it has opened up and shows excellent freshness and balance, with a long, almondy finish. Organic.
