Ripe and chewy, some meatiness on the nose, with strawberry and red cherries. Clean and crisp, quite controlled but with a serious, dark core full of liquorice, smoke and cedar. Still very much in its youthful, tight, coiled phase, not giving so much right now. Cool climate, linear Syrah, with precision and generous weight in the mouth. I love the slightly sweet slightly herbal strawberry touches. An interesting wine.
