A really lifted and joyous expression with rich but creamy red fruits - strawberry and red cherry mingling with cinnamon and sweet exotic spices giving a touch of heat and oak piquance to the sides of the mouth but all well executed with lively acidity. Nicely complete with personality and supreme drinkability. Lovely tension too, feels direct and persistent with a long length. A great buy for this price and understandable quality from this reliable brand which has been taking declassified fruit from Château Mouton Rothschild since 1930. Blend of 87% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc. A good buy for the price, and the Mouton Cadet Réserve Médoc 2016 is also worth seeking out for a bold, characterful and classic claret (£16.95 Slurp).
