This wine starts out nicely with ripe fruit aromas and a bright attack with high-toned red and juicy plum flavours, but it ends with too much tannic austerity, as if the majority Merlots from vines grown in clay rich vineyards here did not quite make it this year.  And while the tannins should soften with barrel ageing, I miss too much of the floral elegance expected from a Margaux.
