Spicy fruit and quite strict tannins arrive on the palate, this feels a little austere and over extracted, a touch harsh. The texture is smooth and this has energy and acidity but also quite marked sticky black liquorice and clove elements that stick out on the finish. It feels youthful still with tension. A dark, brooding style that would benefit from another year ageing.
