Floral nose with crushed rose petals, expressive and beguiling with tobacco and iodine notes. Bright and bold, quite full and round on the palate. The tannins are imposing and filling the mouth straight away giving quite a forceful grip on the finish with a distinctive liquorice, graphite tang which lingers and detracts a little from the generosity of fruit. Missing a little more balance and grace. Acidity is there, and this has life and energy, but it's constricted and not so easy.
