This is the first vintage since 2006 that Fleur de Clinet has gone back to being produced just from their own vines, and is due to be bottled in late January 2019, reflecting their policy of long, slow ageing in softly toasted barrels with very little new oak - just 5%, with the rest one-fill from the grand vin. It's a lovely vintage to be showcasing their own vines again, and helpful too, as there have been quite a lot of new plantings as they restructure the vineyard. This is really rather beautiful - a little austere at this point, but packed with well-defined cassis fruits.
