Dried flower and herb aromas with red berry aspects. Juicy and lively, this has a pleasant thickness on the palate – ripe and supple tannins with bright, almost brisk acidity that give it that lifted, fun aspect. A little tense and straight still – almost high-toned – but this will soften. I love the salty, wet stone grip on the finish. Good purity. First vintage with the future blend after restructuration. 25% of production. 10% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.58pH. 65 IPT. Ageing 40% new oak, 60% one-year-old barrels.
