Under Czech ownership since July 2019 (and so responsible for the final ageing and bottling of this 2018 vintage but not the growing season or winemaking), this is filled with soft brambled fruits, sappy acidity and slightly rustic tannins. A yield of 45hl/ha, with 18 months in barrel. The vineyard is on gravelly sand and clay soils. The word 'escot', by the way, meant 'tax collector' in the Middle Ages, giving a clue to the occupation of a previous owner.
