The colour here is deeper than I would initially expect from a wine produced from this famously light vintage. There is a touch of dustiness on the nose but a core of black fruit shines through. The palate is richer and rounder than I would have predicted but and there is a plump character that is held in check by a little unresolved tannin. There is lovely length on this delicious example of what can be produced in Pomerol in lighter years.
