A great year in Pomerol, this is clearly at its plateau, with woodsmoke and a soft tawny patina. Sweet edge to the fruit in the way that older Pomerols can display, with truffles and undergrowth notes alongside wild strawberry and blackberry, with the spices majoring on saffron and cinnamon at this stage. Very much ready to drink, this is a lovely older wine with gently embracing tannins if unlikely to deepen further from this point.
