Feels a little more intact than the 2000, with pronounced freshness and still fresh mint leaf on the finish. Not quite as pleasurable perhaps, there is a languid enjoyment to the 2000 that is hard to beat. Here you get a clearer focus on black pepper and cinnamon spices, with plush and seductive Pomerol tannins. Sweet edges to the fruit as it opens in the glass, clear raspberry and strawberry, with an earthy smoked peat finish.
