Delicate fragrance of violet, rose and strawberry, something quite floral about the nose with some soft Cabernet herbalness. Round and weighty, a lovely velvety texture to the tannins but with quite crisp acidity that gives some tension. A nice balance of flesh and mouth-watering acidity giving a push/pull. Layered and bright, still streamlined no doubt, there’s not so much flesh or bounce but a certain depth and weight on the palate. Clear and well defined. Wood is still present causing some restriction on the finish but there’s nice potential here. 3.65pH. Ageing 17 months, 65% new oak.
