Tasted alongside the 1989, this 1990 does not represent the quality produced at this famous estate in more recent vintages. Initially closed on the nose, but with a deep intense colour. There is phenomenal concentration of fruit here, but is somehow holding something back. The palate feels plush and rich with great concentration. Moderate length but possibly too ripe for my liking, especially alongside the superior 1989.
