Vivid and vibrant colour. Super intense and concentrated nose with rich dark blackcurrants and black cherries plus liquorice, iron, wet stone and cedar tang. Bright, tangy and alive but slowly expands into a crushed stone texture on the palate with lovely instantaneous red fruit flavours and clear mineral salinity. Focused and precise with nice weight to the tannins as well as energy from the acidity. A really accomplished wine with great balance, drive and mouthwatering acidity that makes you want another sip straight away while still delivering density. The acidity keeps it straight and well defined, ending crisp and clean, yet the frame stays quite wide. Impressive mix of blackcurrant, black cherry, blueberry and cranberry fruit. Ends with liquorice spice, cola and flint. 3.61pH. A yield of 38hl/ha. Ageing 25% new barrels, 50% concrete vats (20hl) and 25% amphoras. 30% whole bunches, only on gravel. 10 days longer maceration at low temperatures.
