Dark red fruits and dark chocolate on the nose, ripe and delicately savoury. Straight, sleek and firm with fine but filling tannins that coat the mouth and don't let go, though give space to the juicy, cool blue and red fruits to drive in one line from start to finish. Feels controlled, nicely massy, with a saline, chalky touch too giving the nuance as well as lots of spice liquorice with graphite, wet stone and slate on the finish. 5% Malbec completes the blend. Harvest 15 September - 3 October. Ageing 18 months. Some whole bunch fermentation. Derenoncourt consultants.
