Intense and dark nose with lots of violet and cassis aromas. Sumptuous and opulent on the palate, this is rich and layered with chewy tannins, lots of ripe blackcurrants but also with a distinct liquorice and toasted spice undertone that gives a savoury piquance quite prominently and just takes over from the fruit forwardness a little. I like the styling though and the texture is really appealing, mouthcoating and serious. Something very evocative about this wine that makes you want more.
